Los Amigos DJ Big Boss Groove grew up 10 miles from Coventry which meant Two Tone was everywhere. The Jam, Dexys, The Style Council, The Housemartins & Northern Soul were standard fare on my stereo. Quadrophenia was the staple film. Enter Psychobilly (Meteors & King Kurt) from Scooter Runs on my PX180 Vespa along with the Punk sounds of The Exploited and others.

Northern Soul was a fixture at every disco where I lived and watching people dance inspired me to want to learn – The Champion, Contact and The Snake were worn out practicing.

Big Country, The Cure & The Smiths followed, then many many more bands & genres

But deep down Northern Soul is where it’s at – Keep the Faith!
